Sijos for My Beloved

Supine, gazing at the heavens, I imagine her there watching

The stars in her sky, her mind filled with images of me.

Then I awaken, alone in my room, with only tears in my eyes.

All these years spent and irretrievable, no one like her

Ever reached out to me and saw me worthy or rare,

Ironic, now that the miracle exists, it os on another planet.

Inconceivable to me, that she should love me just as I am

And for no other reason but love, she is truly such a wonder.

The one who possesses me, now only cares for my gold.

Contentment is an illusion, but exists in my reveries.

There, she is the embodiment of peace for my soul.

Such chaos shatters the tranquility in reality.

Her laughter is a treasure unplundered, but is glistening there

In the silent trove of my life’s wondrous possibilities.

I cast my net, but only demons fill it to the brim.

If only my weak words could express what’s inside of my heart.

She could at last comprehend the way that she moves me.

One night gazing into those eyes would banish a lifetime of sorrows.
