The Golden Rod of Osiris

Osiris, was the great grandson of Re, the Sun God

Lord of Eternity, and Isis his Queen bold

Now the story of Osiris’ golden rod

Is unlike any other that has since been told

The Great Pharoah set off to share his great wisdom

Queen Isis was left to rule well while he was gone

Isis’ brother Seth, who was Dark Lord of the Storm

Plotted and coveted the king’s throne for his own

Seventy-two men joined with Seth’s machination

A splendid large chest was made for Pharoahs’ return

Dimensions designed for one man in his nation

A contest ensued and each man there took his turn

Osiris laid down in the gild box with a smile

Seth’s men quickly sprang forth and slammed down the cover

They tossed  the strong chest in the cold depths of the Nile

Isis was bereft of her husband and lover

Isis searched and discovered the chest in a tree

Byblos’ King had made a pillar for his palace

Isis brought her husband buried him in the reeds

But Seth chopped him to his bits including his phallus

Isis reassembled all of the scattered parts

And gave to her man a new phallus made of gold

Breathed life into him with her chants and her dark  arts

Made love to Osiris and his manhood so cold

That night she conceived her Divine son, God Horus

Who would rule Egypt in his royal father’s stead

T’ was because of the loss of his phallus, of course

Re-Atum  made Osiris the King of the Dead.
